'Jaan-e-Mann' is the latest example of corporate branding of bollywood-a new trend. Since bollywood is passing through various transformations and one can clearly see the reflection of it in the recent movies. Be it Frahan Akhtar’s ‘DON’ or Shirish Kunder’s 'Jaan-e-Mann'. Packaging of a film has taken the top space on the ladder and next comes the marketing. 'Jaan-e-Mann' shows an absolute belonging to the writer, director and the editor Shirish Kunder and Shirish can easily be termed as a new directorial prodigy of the year. The movie is an honest attempt to produce a comic-melodrama in a whole new packaging. Movie is a light mood movie and a complete family entertainer. Although first half is a bit slow but second half is some what ok. You can also treat this movie as a ‘Paisa Vasool’ movie.

The film largely revolves around three characters Suhann Kapoor (Salman Khan), Augustia Rao (Akshay Kumar) and Piya (Preity Zinta). The plot of the movie is about relationships and intense family bonding between husband and wife, father and child and so on. Akshay Kumar gives a new twist to the story by being an innocent lover. He has once again proved that he can best fit into any type of a character. His laughing style was something very unusal and he has done his best with his character. At some places, Salman Khan had done over acting but we can still rate it as an average performance. Preity Zinta looks fresh and cool. She is simply her character. She succeeds in proving herself as a responsible mother as Piya.

The sequence of ‘BOO-BOO Diaper’ done by Salman Khan was touchy and very entertaining. Anupam Kher comes as a "dwarf" and acted almost real. Aman Verma had a little scope in underwritten role of a comical villain. Script of the film is tight but flow of the story is not the same. The innovative, narrative skill of transporting story from fiction to Real life is a fine piece of experimentation. Later, the weaving of plots and sub-plots through techno-creative direction and hi-fi cinematography is the point that extracts quality work from the actors. This is really the strong technical-creative skill of the film crew. Songs are average but title song is melodious. Art Direction is good and background score is marvelous. 'Jaan-e-Mann' has been backed by Nadiadwala Productions. In conclusion, we can say that this movie is a perfect treat for a weekend.
