Nishabd Ram Gopal Verma should stick to the action genre, this was the first thought that came to my mind after watching Nishabd. A much-awaited movie from RGV factory fails to come at par with the pre-release expectations. The storyline based on the quaint love story of a 60-year-old man (Amitabh Bachchan) with 18-year-old girl (Jiah Khan) saw a lot of eyebrows being raised even before the release of the movie. But after the movie was released with a lot of hubbub it was disappointing for most of the movie lovers. Amitabh bachchan did not seem comfortable in the role of a 60-year-old lover, the role that he was of course playing for the first time. Jiah Khan’s role in the movie does not have much of a scope to show her acting skills but with whatever opportunity she had, the performance was good. Jiah Khan seems to be a perfect girl for the role of ‘Jiah’ (name is remains same in the movie). But the same is not true in case of Amitabh. Amitabh does not fit into the role of Vijay, who falls in love with his daughter’s friend, coming on a vacation to his house. People just could not digest the angry young man loving an 18 year-old-girl.
Nishabd The sequences in Nishabd are quite boring. Those who went to see some sensuous scenes were also disappointed as Ramu tried to express love between a man and a woman without even showing it. The monotonous scenes of Amitabh staring at half-clad Jiah, falling in love with her all this looked a bit odd. Movie shows the attraction of Amitabh towards the young girl and Jiah tickling, playing with Amitabh but it fails to show that how she comes so close to a man who is more than double her age. Revathi who is playing Amitabh Bachchan’s wife has acted well and seems to hold an upper hand over all actors in the movie. What seems to be a worthy experiment by Ram Gopal verma has turned out to be a dull move. It could have been a excellent work provided it was treated well.
Nishabd If we look at the last few films of RGV factory like Darwaza Band Rakho, Vaastu Shastra and Shiva, which have performed bad on the Box office and now it is Nishabd, which also seems to be another flop experiment from Ramu. The direction in the movie is not very good. If we look at Sarkar (another RGV movie), Nishabd seems to be a movie made without any proper script in mind. The movie misses the basic point of entertainment. The film seems to be more of a package of scenes put together rather being a well-narrated story. The music of the movie is also not a strong point. Amitabh's voice is also not able to capture the interest of the viewers. It is more of a slow music, which has not been able to rock the charts. So one can say that Ramu has been unsuccessful in getting people's praise for his brave attempt to make a movie with a romantic touch.
