A macho man, an eye candy heroine, expensive costumes, lots of merry making and a happy ending is not just what the Indian viewers take any more… for this I would say…Fed up of peppy love stories…? This is the time to go beyond and witness Reema Kagti’s honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, a narrative about six newly wed couples on their honeymoon to Goa. It is a movie that adds a feather to the changing trend of cinema within the Bollywood. The actors, costumes and locations are applaudable. The narration of the movie by the way of radio jockeying is entertaining and is unusual.
The performers have done complete justice to their roles. Among the best ones are Shabana Azmi who is elegant as always and Kay Kay Menon giving a refreshing performance… you would love… as a conservative and possessive husband. Boman Irani is ok…but you would want to miss out his presence in certain scenes. The tour guide, driver of the bus, the helper and even the use of language are more than realistic. All characters get their screen share with no one overshadowing the other in the two and a half hours flick except Ranvir Shory who has been given a limited footage. |

The debutante director’s best move was depicting some middle class couples, and this concept connects well with the audience and has become the USP of the film. The movie is enjoyable and full of surprises; you can’t even guess how would it unfold in the next few seconds…feeling sad??…Do not worry…laughter awaits you in the next scene. There is not a single instance in the movie that would permit you to scroll your eyeballs off the screen… forget about the popcorns in your hand. Some surprises are interesting and some generic. Songs are few, and hummable…especially ‘Sajna di vari’ which witnesses Kay Kay Menon dancing wildly on screen for the very first time. In fact you would want to stand up and join the dancing brigade with this foot tapping number. Other tracks are also enchanting! The dance performance of Minnisha and Abhey on ‘Ek ladki thi’ was absolutely flawless and mesmerizing.

It is more like a sequence of events, which discusses the fun, enthusiasm, excitement, pain and much more on what the couples face while on their honeymoon to Goa. As the story unwinds it tells how each couple is different from the other. The director has tried to include whatever she could but patched them up very well… you can’t blame her for not doing justice with any character. She has depicted ‘gay’ angle (between Chatwal and Karan Khanna) as well as the way Sandhya Mridul (Chatwal’s wife) takes it, lady (Diya Mirza) running away from her honeymoon, super heroes and much more.
The only part where the movie lacks is the end, which is very pacy and has not been developed as beautifully as the movie. Still, there is fun, commotion and confusion, which would keep you on the edge of the seats till the time the story draws to its conclusion. Honeymoon Travels Pvt. caters to all ages and classes. The movie has no message to give and no morals to preach but would be an absolute paisa vasool for all the movie buffs around the world. So go over and explore the wonder world of Reema Kagti!!
