For a change a clean comedy with no double meaning dialogues. 'Bheja Fry' is a complete entertainer made on a new formula of making movies for multiplexes. 'Bheja Fry' does not have old Bollywood Masala, which generally has Item numbers, Action, Drama etc. In spite of this fact, you will never miss all of this as the movie has been compiled brilliantly. Sagar Ballary as a director has done a brilliant job to make a good entertaining movie. Although 'Bheja Fry' is a low budget movie but one does not feel that affects the quality of the movie anywhere. There is no big cast in the movie but the one can see the powerful performance of the actors in the movie. Vinay Pathak, who is in the lead role, has given a gem of a performance. Acting as a fool in the movie Pathak has engrossed himself in the role of Bharat Bhushan very well. Although the movie is short, but is a thorough entertainer.
'Bheja Fry' is based on the story of a rich man, Ranjeet Thadani (Rajat Kapoor) who is in a habit of calling foolish people (mainly who are experts in doing quaint activities) to his home and making fun of them with his friends. So one day he calls up Bharat Bhushan to his house and instead of making a fool of him, he falls into trouble. As the story moves on comedy scenes follow one after another. Sheetal (Sarika), Ranjeet's wife leaves the house due to the confusion caused by Bharat Bhushan and Ranjeet gets busy in trying out various tricks to call his wife back. It would not be wrong to say that most of the comedy is based on the character of Bharat Bhushan. Ranvir Shourie, who is playing as a friend to Vinay in the film, has also given a good performance in a short but different role. Milind Soman's performance in the movie again calls for applause.
The story runs on a plot of a single family of Ranjeet Thadani and the drama that enfolds between Ranjeet and Bharat Bhushan is a delight to watch. It would not be wrong to say that all the ingredients in the movie support each other very well. The dialogues of the movie are very well written and the manner in which they are delivered is even better. 'Bheja Fry' is not one of those movies, which entertains for a period of time and gets boring after that. It entertains its viewers for complete two hours. There is not much of music; it is in fact one of the weak points of this film. It has only one song and that actually fails to impress the listeners. Music director Sagar Durani could have done lot better with his music. But not putting too many songs is actually turned out to be a positive for the film. The director surely deserves all praise for giving his audience a two-hour ride full of laughter.
