Chak de India- is a beautifully made film that will make you laugh, cry, and will stir up the patriotism inside you. It is a film that every lover of good cinematography must watch. In other words it can be called a big treat for Hockey fans. Sport is not a very successful genre in Bollywood and most of the sport based movies have failed miserably at the box office, but 'Chak De India' has made a rocking entry in theaters. The movie is about an ex-Indian Hockey team captain's return as the Coach of the Indian Women's National Hockey team and his fight in making a strong team. Kabir Khan (Shah Rukh), the best centre-forward in Indian hockey team, misses the crucial, last-minute penalty stroke against Pakistan and is blamed for the Indian team's defeat in the finals. After being labeled as a betrayer, Kabir Khan leaves his parental house with his mother and keeps himself off from the social network. Seven years later he appears again, as a coach of a bunch of girls. This is a bunch of girls which has lost the confidence of even the Hockey Federation. The girls represent the various parts of India – Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, North East and other states. With a great difficulty, Kabir khan manages to make a team which inturn manages to enter the world cup. |

The film's story is simple and yet it carries many twists and turns. The movie has a number of intelligently conceived sequences which fill your heart with deep emotions. For instance, a sequence when the girl's hockey team has to prove their might against the men's team-girls lose the game, yet they win an applause and salutation from male players. Also, the scene in which the girls bash up a bunch of boys at Mc Donald’s is a must watch. All characters and plots are well defined in the movie. Ample footage is given to the girls. Shilpa Shukla (as the egoistic Bindia) delivers a laudable performance. Sagarika Ghatge ( Preeti Sabarwal) is convincing. Vidya Malvade (as a team captain) also plays her part well. The aroma of fun and humor can be felt in the entire movie. The funniest of the lot is the Haryanavi girl Komal, and the hot-tempered Punjabi girl Balbir Kaur . However, Sharukh is the soul of the movie. Sharukh isn't the sole focus of the film though I undoubtedly believe that it is one of the best performances of Shahrukh in his entire career.

| Director Shimit Amin has done justice to the story, characters, action and pace of the movie. He has ensured there isn't even a single dull moment. Every scene makes an impact and carries a message. The background music is like a cherry on the cake. Most importantly, it is heartening to see Yashraj Films getting away from their stereotypical romances and sentimental family dramas. In spite of not having any love angle to it, the movie will keep you gripped onto your seat till the credit rolls. 'Chak De India' is not just a sports film. It is filled with myriad emotions. And the best part is that story is told in a very realistic manner, making it all the more believable. There is no unnecessary dramatization into the story, yet the impact is so strong that deep down your conscience it will make you speak to yourself, ‘India really needs such kind of players and coaches’. The director has tried to suck out all the acting skills from a huge lot of unprofessional actors and has left no room for mistakes. The girls for sure deserve a genuine appreciation. It’s a must watch for every Indian. The movie will actually make you stand up and clap at the fall of curtain. One advice: don’t miss it!
