Fool N Final is a pure Bollywood make-believe Drama. The execution of story idea is done very stylishly, but the story lacks a concrete plot. Moreover, many a times, the story seems to be illogical. The entire movie is like watching a comic book on screen. The movie has drama, action, romance, comedy and all ingredients that make it a wholesome bollywood masala movie. The movie is all about a diamond robbery that takes place in Mumbai. Rocky (Chunky Pandey) steals the diamond for his uncle Choksey (Gulshan Grover) who is a Dubai based Don. Choksey wants to sell it off to his accomplice Lalvani (Asrani). But before anything could happen, Arbaaz Khan (Moscow Chikna), another Don in Dubai, comes to know about the diamond. He approaches Choubey (Paresh rawal) who is a small time thief and asks him to steal the diamond from Rocky. Choubey draws out a plan to do the robbery with his niece [Ayesha Takia], her boyfriend [Shahid Kapoor] and a cabbie [Johny Lever]. If so many characters are not confusing enough, there are parallel story lines about Luckee (Vivek Oberoi) and Bob (Suresh Menon) who own a game parlour in Dubai and also promote new fighters who want to take part in illegal boxing matches in Dubai and 'earth-shattering' Munna (Sunny Deol), a messiah who saves a damsel in distress Payal (Sameera Reddy).
The movie is star studded, which is the biggest drawback of the movie. Huge bunch of characters, parallel stories, loads of action, senseless humour and of course bollywood style love; but everything failed to entertain the audience. The script is weak, and the screenplay too unfolds with too many sub plots confusing the viewers. The screenplay tries to incorporate everything including action, comedy, and song and dance but in doing so it goes overboard. The writer has not done justice to any of the characters. The film does provide some comic relief but only in bits and pieces such as the portions between Paresh Rawal and Johny Lever. Rest of the time the comedy seems to be forced.
As far as acting is concerned, the only performance, which can be given applause, is that of Shahid Kapoor. He has done some excellent stunts and dance moves in the movie. His companion Ayesha Takia was given no platform to showcase her strength. Johny Lever and Paresh Rawal duo keeps you stuck to your seat. Both are fantastic and are incomparable. They maintained the comic mood of the movie. Sunny Deol’s performance was just fine. His character was not very demanding. He was a macho man in the movie. Vivek Oberio, Jackie Shroff, Chunkey Pandey and Arbaaz Khan performed well. Sharmila Tagore , Sameera Reddy, Zakir Hussain and Asrani appeared in bits and pieces. The music by Reshammiya is good and tracks like ‘Shakira Ve’ and ‘Tere Laye’ is pleasant sounding and the choreography is something worth appreciating. The songs also have a lot of colour and vibrancy. Director Ahmed Khan tried to convey too many things in too little time, which made it a disaster. On the whole 'Fool N Final' has failed to stand up to audience’s expectations. The movie has broken the promise of a complete entertainment.
