 'Jab We Met' might have a very-very thin and regular story line, but the treatment of the movie makes hay out of the shining sun for the distributors. The treatment of the movie collects all accolades, as the only parameter for survival of the flick at the box-office. Story of the movie seems similar to the first together-venture 'Dhai Akshar Prem Ke', of bollywood's lately married hottest couple – Abhishek and Aishwarya. Music in the movie is captive enough for the audience to shake shoulder and get off their seats on numbers like 'Ye ishq haye' and 'Mauja hi mauja'. Direction of the movie is also commendable. Screenplay and selection of the location in 'Jab We Met' is very apt. Entire shooting of the movie is shot in India, especially the shoot of snow-laden mountains of Shimla and Manali is very exquisite. Choreography is good and sharp moves of Shahid adds spice to it.

 With a very slow start, the movie looks deceptive to what one sees in the promos before going to the theater. Shahid Kapoor (Aditya), an industrialist is a heart broken, who also suffers from bad family history where his father is dead and mother has eloped with her extra marital. He encounters Kareena Kapoor (Geet) in train for the first time, but then fortune brings her back to him every time he leaves her. This beautiful cycle of meeting and departure makes him fall in love with her. But, she loves another guy for whom she never gives space to Aditya, but when her love ditches her, Aditya revives her sad life in typical 'Geet style', shown earlier in the movie. But, fortune once again lead them to the fate of departure, when her love comes back to her. But, her family turns antagonists for them earlier, now changes situation in a way that once again tie their fates together, and finally like every other bollywood movie, there is a happy ending when the 'two become one' for always. |

 For all Kareena Kapoor fans the movie is a must watch, as she has actually acted in the movie for the first time. On the other hand, Shahid looks like a born rich in the movie, his every dialogue is nicely timed. He has acted very natural in the movie. Hats off to the director!! The movie is a light-mood, jolly flick and an equally good stress busters as the character of Geet makes you laugh and cry both. Geet's family is based in Punjab and people shown as her relatives successfully depict the happy-go-lucky culture of the state. So, for all those who have still not seen the movie, please go ahead as it is a good time pass. |
