 If Razzie awards would have been in Bollywood too, 'Raqeeb' would have been a strong contender for the worst movie awards in 2007. An unbiased reviewer will definitely advice not to watch this one. Its a movie in bits and pieces and looks like a pastiche. The movie has not got a single aspect right everything is in such a manner that one will feel like snatching hair. After watching the whole plot of the movie it seems that the director was in a hurry to finish it off. One can't see a any flow of a thought process into the making of the movie. Anurag Singh as the director has done a below average job in 'Raqeeb', the movie just fails to impress at any point. Although the story of the movie had some twists and turns but the director failed to portrait those in an effective manner. The movie has been made on a good storyline but the direction is below par. The movie is about three guys (Rahul Khanna, Sharman Joshi and Jimmy Shergill) falling in love with a single girl (Tanushree Dutta).

 Rahul Khanna and Sharman Joshi are the best of friends and Rahul who falls in love with Tanushree marries her. But as she is not able to forget Jimmy Shergill (her first love) even after her marriage and urges him to kill Rahul Khanna, so that she can marry Jimmy Shergill. But when Jimmy kills Rahul, Rahul gets to know that he has fallen prey to the trap laid by Sharman Joshi with Tanushree. Police arrests Jimmy Shergill but the story takes some interesting turns after that. The dialouges in the film are so vague and ridiculous that nothing supports the situation in the movie. Especially the dialogues by Tanushree Dutta just do not fit her role. No doubt that Raj Kanwar who is the producer of the film has delivered some good movies in past (e.g: Humko Dewana Kar Gaye) but this time he has failed to give an entertaining flick. |

 The actors have given dull performances in the movie. You cannot point out a single actor who has delivered a great performance. Tanushree Dutta is looking sombre as ever and the costumes she is wearing look borrowed. Performances by Rahul Khanna and Sharman Joshi are also ordinary. Jimmy Shergill also looked inapt in the short role given to him in the movie. Although the movie contains action, comedy and drama but all these aspects could not emerge as strong points in the movie. The music of the movie does not fit the plot of the movie. Few songs are being unnecessarily put in the movie where they are not required at all. It would not be wrong to say that it is not in synchronisation with the movie. Except for the song 'Aai Raqeeb', all other songs are quite average.

 All in all one can say that 'Raqeeb' is a must not watch movie, which is just a waste of time and not worth spending bucks on it. Its a two and a half hour of a torture rather than entertainment. The story of 'Raqeeb' is long and could not be digested at all. Its more like a daily soap opera where things happen without any reason. 'Raqeeb' also has sequences which take place just for the sake of the movie without any practical sense. It is quite evident that 'Raqeeb' will add to the flop list of 2007.
