Shaurya ReviewTired of watching comedies? Want to see a meaningful film? Try Shaurya. The film acts as a breather when the industry is pouring comedies. The film starring Rahul Bose, Kay Kay Menon, Minissha Lamba and Javed Jafferi in the lead roles is set in the backdrop of the Indian Army.

Siddhant Choudhary (Rahul Bose), an army Lawyer and a happy-go-lucky person. Siddhant is too attached with his friend Aaakash (Javed Jaffery). So when Aakash gets a posting in Srinagar, Siddhant also goes along only to find himself in the midst of a very controversial case as the defence counsel of an accused military man, Javed Khan. Allegedly, Javed had shot his senior - Rathore - infront of his collegues when he tried to kill a small girl because she was a muslim.

Shaurya ReviewSiddhant at first considers it to be an open and shut case. Enter Kaavya (Minissha), a journalist and the conscience of the film. During an interview with Siddhant she realises that the man has no clue about the case. She in a fit of anger stirres his conscience and makes him realise the importance of the case and and his role in saving the accused. Later on, the two come together to investigate the case.
Shaurya ReviewKaavya reports the case in her newspaper and mentions the involvement of a high profile army offiocer Brigadier Pratap (Kay Kay Menon). Siddhant finds himself in deep trouble and and decides to meet the Brigadier. He finds the brigadier to be a wierd man, filled with animosity and anger. With time he becomes more determined to save Javed. During investigations Siddhant finds that Rathore was a the Brigadier's favourite and an animal rather than a man. He is also helped by rathore's wife (Amrrita rao) in fighting the case. The film reaches its climax when Brigadier is summoned to the court. siddhant proves that the Brigadier had hatred for all muslims, since a muslim boy had killed his family and even raped his 8-year old daughter. He was instrumental in training men like Pratap, and thereafter giving orders to kill all muslims.
Shaurya ReviewThe climax of the movie between Rahul and Menon gives you jitters. “Zeher inke khoon me sana hua hai. Main inki kaum ko khatam kar doonga”, says the Brigadier referring to muslims. Even Minissha has done a good job and kept up with the performance level of other actors. The film is crisp in terms of editing. You can witness some good cinematography by Carlos Catalán. The film is no nonsense in terms of songs. The songs are well placed in the movie and go along with the story.
Shaurya ReviewSamar Khan, whose directorial debut 'Kuch meetha Ho jaye' bombed at the box office has given a pleasant surprise in this film. He has ensured that even small characters add meaning to the film. The dialogues are interesting. The film has an 18 minute climax, which consists of heated dialogue exchange between Rahul and Kay Kay, which makes the audience sit up and watch the film. The film has sensitively dealt with the issue of religious differences prevailing among the people. Even a staunch army man like Brigadier Pratap is shown to differentiate between Hindus and Muslims, just because he was wronged by a muslim.

One thing that makes this film worth watching are its characters, be the fun loving but intelligent Siddharth; the small-town journalist Kaavya; the supporting friend Aakash or the staunch army man, Pratap.
