Corn Kebabs
Makkai kebab
American corn kernels
(canned) 1 can / 200 gm / 7 oz
processed cheese \ cheddar
cheese, grated ½ cup
Mint (pudina) leaves, fresh,
finely chopped 2 tsp
Ginger (adrak), 1" piece, finely chopped 1
Onion, medium-sized, finely chopped 1
Green chillies, medium-sized, deseeded
Finely chopped 2
Dry mango powder (amchur) 1 tsp
Black pepper (kaali mirch)
Freshly ground 1 tsp
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Cornflour 1 tbsp
Breadcrumbs 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Cooking oil ½ cup
Method :
Mix all the ingredients together (except oil) until dough-like mixture is formed. Add more cornflour or breadcrumbs to ensure the above consistency, if necessary.
Divide the mixture equally into 8 portions and shape each portion into 1”- thick, flat roundel. Place these roundels on a flat tray and keep aside.
Heat the oil to medium in a pan; shallow fry the roundels until light golden brown on both sides.
Transfer on to a platter and serve hot with mint chutney.
