New Delhi: Mira Jain's Mirari and Fawaz Gruosi's de Grisogono are two international luxury brands that have chosen India as their next global market. The recent launch of their first store in India was held at New Delhi's Shangri-La Hotel and saw the coming in of a few chosen celebrities like Bipasha Basu and Vidya Balan. The two brands have joined hands with opening of a common showroom in the shopping arcade of Hotel Shangri-La. For a period of three days, starting October 25, collection from both the brands will be showcased admist tight security at the hotel. Exhibition will remain open to all and purchase orders will be taken from the interested customers.
Mirari alongwith de Grisogono bring about jewellery items that are far away from the traditional Indian wear. Black diamonds, Icy diamonds and Galusha leather (from sting gray fish) are trademark of the Genevian de Grisogono. On the other hand, Mirari unveils the jewellery studded with precious gems and pearls and adorned with Galusha leather. Mira Jain has based her Fall Winter 2007-2008 collection on four themes - Odyssey and Thalassa are inspired by the waves and the ocean, while Amara elaborates upon beauty of peacock and Angel is a brand mark for Mirari.
Talking about her collaboration with the Genevian brand to Headlines India, Mira said, "de Grisogono makes watches as well as jewellery. I feel it is a brand which is a trend-setter, leader. Its designs possess appealing qualities in them and thus, it is a great product to bring to India." Mentioning that her jewellery does not limit itself to traditional cultural ornaments, Mira said, "I don't make jewellery which is traditional Indian. I create jewellery for women of world, women who is well-travelled. This jewellery would be passion for her and not just acquisition."

Thibaud Jaouen, Area Sales Manager for de Grisogono, found the launch to be very positive. " Indian market would be lucrative for the brand. I believe Indians are aware of the market compare to other nationals," he said justifying the venture. "They know very well about stones, their quality and designs. I expect them to appreciate this innovation in jewellery designing."

The most expensive piece showcased by Mirari is Parur, an Amara collection, worth Rs 35,34,300. It is a neckpiece which has 186 pear-shaped diamonds with radiant cut and south-sea pearls. de Grisogono's valauble piece was a earrings and necklace set worth Rs 79,38,000. It was a multi-coloured item adorned with emeralds, rubies, topaz, sapphire, white gold and colored pearls.
