Boman Irani
A photographer, spontaneous actor and brilliant performer, Boman Irani has come a long way to establish himself in the Mumbai film industry. Boman Irani was born in the year 1962 in a Parsi family in Mumbai, India. He follows Zoroastrianism and is a religious person. He is happily married with two children Danesh and Kayur.
Boman Irani chose photography as his career for his passionate love for capturing beautiful moments in stills. Searching for a wider platform for expressing his imaginations, Boman stepped into the world of theater. He debuted with a cameo role in the play 'Roshni' by Alyque Padamsee. He realized theater to be a mass motivator where he could express his inner self through the character he played. Since then there was no looking back for him as he plunged into acting with all his heart and soul. 'Family ties' by Raell Padamsee, 'I'm not Bajirao' by Rahul Da Cunha and the most famous of all 'Mahatma vs Gandhi' by Feroz Khan are few of the plays in which he performed. 'Mahatma vs Gandhi' has been staged in various parts of the country and drew a huge audience throughout its performance. It was selected as the Play of the Year in South Africa and Boman's performance in the play was appreciated world wide.

He stepped into the Mumbai film industry with the film 'Josh' in the year 2000. He also played a major role in the film 'Everybody Says I'm Fine' by Rahul Bose which earned immense critic acclamation. Boman Irani's acting talent was hugely appreciated in the film 'Munnabhai M.B.B.S.' where he played the character of Dr. J.C Ashtana. This is the film that took him to the heights of popularity and success. Since then several films followed. Main Hoon Na, Waqt: The Race Against Time, Khosla Ka Ghosla Lakshya, Veer-Zaara, Page 3, Being Cyrus, Lage Raho Munnabhai, Don- The Chase Begins Again, Home Delivery: Aapko...Ghar Tak, Bluffmaster, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. are the few of his films where each time he surprised the audience with his talent. He has received an award for the 'Best supporting role in comedy film' for Munna Bhai MBBS. |
Before coming to the Mumbai film industry Boman Irani was a common face in the Indian commercial advertisements. He could be seen in the advertisements of CEAT tires, Krackjack, Fanta, Tata Indica, Cadbury's and many more. Boman Irani has always believed in playing different kinds of characters. A versatile actor he keeps on improvising his roles and adding twist and spice to them. A warm hearted and friendly personality off screen, Boman Irani believes in living life king size. He accepts the bad phases in his life as sportingly as he welcomes the happy moments. A person who can burst laughing at his own self Boman never stops being enthusiastic about the opportunities life provide.
He has stepped into the field of film direction which is his latest venture. He is one of the directors in the panel of the production house known by the name of 'Highlight Films'. A great artist and an intellectual, the whole country is looking forward to his forthcoming directorial debut.
