Milind DeoraA fresh new face : Milind
Fresh blood in Indian politics, Milind Deora is one of the few eminent youngest members of the Lok Sabha. Son of the renowned politician Murli Deora, Milind has been with politics since his childhood. Born in the year 1976 in Mumbai, he decided to join the same political party, Indian National Congress, his father belonged to. Returned from the United States, Milind Deora declined the proposition of running his family business and plunged into politics as he believes "Politics is the most effective way of driving and facilitating change".

Early Genesis:
Milind Deora has spent his childhood in Mumbai, India. Having finished his schooling from the Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai and graduation from Sydenham College, he has always proved his intelligence and expertise in handling matters. Besides being a good student he always had an explicit talent of leading the mass. He has acquired his Bachelor's degree in Management from the Boston University, US. Milind has always believed that places like Mumbai South need people who understand the various aspects of business and commerce as the place has a population that consists of mainly of the middle class and poor families. Even the rich families residing in the region are mostly into business.

Besides politics, he shares his interest in music. Given a chance he would not miss the opportunity of playing tunes in his guitar. He is also involved in various social services as he has started off with his own NGO 'Sparsh', serving the poor and needy. His school 'Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan' impart education in low costs so that everyone can avail the facilities. He has been working towards the improvement of the living conditions of the people of Mumbai South. Regular visits to the slums of the region and his constant inquiries about the condition there is a part of his attempt for the development of the area.

Journey to the Parliament:
Milind Deora became the Member of Parliament representing Mumbai South in the year 2004. He is also an eminent member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defense and the Indo-US Parliamentary Forum. To take care of the situations and the official delegations he has to travel constantly to various places that include Indo-Pak border, Kargil and Ladakh. He holds the position of the Chairman at the Indian Merchants Chamber of the young entrepreneurs wing.

Milind believes that to bring change in the political scenario of the country, more and more young people should join politics. “I think today's youth is screaming for change, they want answers from politicians, their elected representatives. And they need people who understand their aspirations. Above all, they are disenchanted with politics because of corruption, criminalization, lack of accountability. We need someone who is going to change all of that” says Milind Deora as he justifies his decision of being in politics rather than taking care of the family business.

Young politicians like Milind Deora have always ignited the flame of hope. Brimming with new ideas and notions, Milind Deora has started his work towards building a better India and the nation can surely hope for a change.
