| History of Mussoorie: |
Mussoorie came into being in 1827 when Captain Young, an officer of the British Army, established a center named as 'The Mullinger'. This place received its name from the plant Masoor grown here in abundance. This tiny center soon emerges as a center of education, tourism and business. With a central mall, a library, resorts and Anglican Church, Mussoorie has still retained its old-world charm.

Kempty Falls:
Sited 13 km from Mussoorie, Kempty Falls is the most favored tourist spot in Mussoorie. From the height of 4500 feet, water cascading down further divides into five cascades offering a splendid view. Reaching Kempty Falls is an experience to cherish for a lifetime, as the ropeway takes you down to the fall. Enjoy the panoramic view of the falls and the mountains.
Lal Tibba:
Lal Tibba is the highest point in Mussoorie that offers many scenic delights and is ideal for trekking.
Gun Hill: :
This is a second highest point after Lal Tibba in Mussoorie. To reach this spot you need to take a Ropeway ride that offers a magnificent view of Mussoorie. Gun Hill provides a bird's eye view of this amazing hill station. Gun Hill received its name during colonial period, as a gun on this point was shot in order to enable people to adjust their watches.
Municipal Gardens: Before independence, it was known as the Botanical gardens of Mussoorie. This manicured garden was designed by Dr. H. Fackner, a popular geologist. It is a beautiful spot with an artificial mini lake and boats.
